As Earth Day is celebrated globally, Juniper Networks is proud to support the vital work of land conservation and restoration efforts both near and beyond our Juniper communities around the world.
For Earth Day 2025, we are excited to announce that we are renewing conservation grants to Peninsula Open Space Trust, Rewilding Europe, and One Tree Planted: Mangroves. These organizations represent an impactful stewardship of the lands and resources near Juniper’s major global sites:
- Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST): POST is a local leader in open space preservation and restoration for the benefit of all, protecting 789 acres in the lands surrounding our Sunnyvale campus last year. Two areas of focus this past year were mitigating wildfire risk through forest care and investing in wildlife connectivity studies. To foster equitable public access to outdoor experiences, POST also engaged 10,000+ participants in 100+ hikes and community events in 2024, enhancing our community’s investment in outdoor experiences and climate solutions.
- Rewilding Europe: Rewilding Europe’s approach to conservation focuses on enabling natural processes to shape and repair ecosystems. In 2024, our grant went toward restoring bison populations, which is crucial to recovering natural grazing and enhancing biodiversity across Europe’s landscapes.
- One Tree Planted: Mangroves: Our 2024 grant specifically supported mangrove restoration efforts in India, near our second-largest site, and throughout APAC. Mangroves enhance biodiversity by providing shelter to roughly 1,500 species, are extremely effective carbon sinks, and protect communities from coastal erosion.
Juniper also has long-term grants in place with the CLIMA Fund and GRID Alternatives, two organizations supporting climate solutions in grassroots communities.
- In 2024, the CLIMA Fund facilitated 278 grants to grassroots-led movements in 77 countries that are working toward lowering emissions while stewarding more just, ecologically vibrant, and safe communities.
- GRID Alternatives marked 20 years of impact in 2024, celebrating over 22,000 solar installations for income-qualified households.
The Juniper Foundation Fund supports preservation of land and resources and advances vital solutions to the climate crisis.
Think globally, act locally
Employees around the globe will also be volunteering in their communities to drive local environmental impact during Earth Week.
On April 22, employees at Juniper’s headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA, will be coming together to volunteer through the community-based restoration program, Save the Bay. Save the Bay works to ensure a clean, healthy, and sustainable San Francisco Bay, the largest Pacific estuary in the Americas. For a quarter of a century, this organization has engaged local communities in habitat restoration along Bay marshes, including projects to combat sea level rise and support endangered wildlife.
Our grants and volunteerism complement our corporate sustainability efforts that are rooted in minimizing our impacts on the environment, responding to a changing climate, and advancing climate solutions.
We are thrilled to join land conservation and restoration efforts across the globe this Earth Day through the combined impact of Juniper dollars, volunteerism, and corporate sustainability efforts.
