Managed SD-WAN has become a must-have for many global enterprises to augment or even replace their existing MPLS VPNs. Enterprises can particularly benefit from multiple WAN access technologies to lower their costs and increase their service flexibility and performance. However, traditional SD-WAN solutions must evolve from static, policy-driven architectures to dynamic, self-driving, secure networks. Furthermore, enterprises require managed services that go beyond the WAN demarcation point to provide visibility into and control over both wired and wireless LANs.
By moving the demarcation point further into the enterprise, service providers assume full responsibility for all enterprise WAN and LAN networks and branch security services. That means service providers must expand from merely managing the WAN router to managing the switches and Wi-Fi access points at each enterprise branch location, as well as tackle the associated challenges with the connected users and devices.
Introducing the Enterprise Service Automation Solution
Juniper Networks and Netcracker have recently announced the Enterprise Service Automation solution to fully automate the service provisioning and lifecycle management of WAN and LAN services. With an AI-driven user experience, services can scale on-demand and problems can be resolved automatically. Working together, Juniper and Netcracker make networks more predictable, reliable and measurable, allowing managed service providers (MSPs) to lower costs through automation while delivering highly differentiated value to customers.
The solution is the result of integrating multiple cloud-native components and is fully validated with open APIs to easily expand into additional domains. The components of the solution include:
- Netcracker Digital Marketplace: delivers a service provider branded self-service portal, where customers can easily order and manage their services and view reports.
- Netcracker Domain Service Orchestration: processes the declarative business intent and uses standard service models to automatically provision the Juniper technical subsystems across WAN and LAN domains.
- Juniper Contrail Service Orchestration: uses zero-touch-provisioning to set up parameters previously defined in Netcracker’s Digital Marketplace.
- Juniper Mist Wired Assurance, Wireless Assurance and WAN Assurance, coupled with the Marvis Virtual Network Assistant, support the solution with ongoing AI-driven operations.
Enterprise Service Automation represents a significant new opportunity for service providers by enabling them to tap into new areas of the lucrative enterprise ICT market, opening up new revenue streams and helping enterprises evolve their networks to match their business needs.
