At Juniper Networks, we have always been focused on delivering great end-user experiences for our customers. We do this by providing not just uptime, but reliable connectivity from anywhere in the world, AI-driven insights and automation, scalable infrastructure to meet increased demand on the network and, most importantly, trust that the network will keep connections and data secure.
Today marks another great milestone in our experience-first networking endeavor: Gartner® has released its 2021 Magic Quadrant™ for Network Firewalls and Juniper Networks has been named a Challenger for the second year in a row!
Extending security to every point of connection on the network has been the basis for Juniper’s Connected Security strategy, leveraging the network infrastructure to take advantage of threat intelligence and giving it the power to enforce protective measures.
In this way, Juniper Networks’ SRX Series Firewall becomes more than a firewall that can be deployed anywhere in any cloud, including as a container. It becomes a starting point of network traffic intelligence and enforcement that ripples out and creates a mesh of threat-awareness-encompassing access points, routers, switches, applications and endpoints.
We know that networking and security are converging — they must, if organizations have any hope of combatting the increase in cyberattacks — but their convergence must be done on both new and classic architectures, with easy-to-use management at the center, creating a threat-aware network that enables fast and reliable experiences that are also secure.
This is experience-first networking. This is Juniper Connected Security.
Although Gartner cautions that Juniper SRX firewalls are more desirable for network teams versus security teams, we know that this is a strength of ours. Juniper knows that security teams cannot successfully defend the network when they operate in silos, and they’re more successful and more agile when they collaborate with other teams, including the networking team. This has been the case with many of our customers.
Considering this, it’s not surprising that Juniper has seen double-digit product revenue growth in its security business for three consecutive quarters. Networking teams already know they can rely on Juniper for reliability, scalability and unmatched performance; but what pushes them to become long-term customers is when they realize that we can also prevent threats better than our competitors can, curb lateral movement and give networks a fighting chance against attackers. If only we had a nickel for every time we’ve heard a customer exclaim that Juniper’s security offering does so much more than they thought it did!
We believe that our position in this year’s Gartner Magic Quadrant for Network Firewalls proves that we’re on the right track and that last year’s “Challenger” recognition was no fluke. Enterprises looking for the best experience in networking and security convergence are looking at Juniper and can continue to count on us.
