Juniper Networks is pleased to once again be named a leader in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Center and Cloud Networking for the third consecutive year.
At Juniper, we exist to bring simplicity to IT, enabling business-critical networks to be deployed and operated seamlessly at scale. As our customers transition to SaaS-based applications hosted in multiple environments, we believe Juniper is leading the charge with world-class products, solutions and services specifically designed for optimizing experience in the modern cloud era. Gartner’s 2020 data center and cloud networking report highlights completeness of vision and the ability to execute in the most important network environments. For the third year in a row, we are recognized as a Magic Quadrant Leader. We believe this recognition comes from Juniper’s proven attributes, including automated fabrics, AI-driven insight, best-in-class security and scalable 400G designs.
As our chief product officer, I personally take great pride in third-party validation from leading analysts such as Gartner. But even more so, I revel in the quantifiable benefits delivered to our marquee customers who span Finance, Healthcare, Government and almost every other vertical. Companies like Gamesys are leveraging the Juniper solution for their private cloud, and in return, we are helping them save time, lower OPEX and increase network uptime for maximum business value. For example, Gamesys reduced infrastructure environment provisioning times from days to hours with Juniper, enabling the company to decrease substantially time-to-market for new features and games. It’s measurable use cases like this that contributed to the 17 percent Y/Y increase in our switching revenue in Q4 2019, including our QFX Series switches experiencing record orders. This growth contributed significantly to our $1.6B in enterprise revenue last year.
Ultimately, we enable our customers to connect to everything and empower everyone in ways that have literally changed the world.
Automating the Data Center
Juniper helps our customers modernize their data centers with our broad security and networking portfolio engineered with automation and visibility to ease operations. Customers choose us to scale and add agility with automation that begins with fabrics and extends to workflows. Juniper fabric management is intent-based and built with the cloud in mind.
With Juniper’s single switching line that features Junos everywhere, our customers are deploying the industry-forward, standards-based architecture of EVPN. The richness and granularity of Junos telemetry prepare our customers to leverage AI and ML to transform data center operations. AI starts with good data, and with Junos and our telemetry heritage, our customers are ready to apply automation along with AI to transform data center networking for application experience.
Application Experience is the New Uptime
Technology leaders are driving the digital transformation of their business and across all industries, which is causing leaders to rethink how they measure the advancement of their data center and cloud infrastructure. While uptime has long been the gold standard of what matters most, this might not provide a full picture. Just because the network is passing traffic, doesn’t mean that users are happy. Instead, users should also rightfully demand a fast and uninterrupted response with assured security.
We are working with our customers and partners in applying automation to assist operations in delivering the application experience. For example, our solutions unify network and application-level telemetry along with AI-driven insights to provide a knowledge graph describing behavior in a holistic way. We design these solutions with simplicity and openness in mind without the lock-in of monolithic architectures.
Security and Scalability
Juniper also enables our customers to solve some of their hardest security problems. Our products and solutions extend security to all connection points across the network and cloud to safeguards users, applications and infrastructure. By enabling enforcement in existing and virtual devices, the network becomes a distributed security blanket that stops threats at the point of attack.
In addition, Juniper’s engineering teams continue to focus on greater scalability for the data center and cloud. We’ve invested extensively in innovation programs from silicon to hardware to software—Juniper’s products are ready now for the transition that our customers want to make to 400G, and honestly must make to remain in the top of their class. In fact, many of our largest customers are testing these solutions today. Juniper’s 400G DC switching and routing solutions stand apart in operational scale and the flexibility of our wholly redesigned modular OS along with hardware running at nearly line rate over the wide area network, even with encryption turned on.
How Can We Help You?
The value of the network has been in the spotlight over the last few months as changes and challenges that have come with COVID-19 have put an unprecedented workload onto networks. It’s gratifying to see the recent recognition of the criticality of networks to our everyday lives and how quickly they’ve adapted to new needs, whether it’s helping our kids to learn or our organizations to run securely, even from our homes.
