Fashion Week wasn’t the only vibrant show in Paris last month. The SD-WAN industry was also in town at the Paris SD-WAN Summit 2018, and Juniper Networks’ Contrail SD-WAN took the spotlight with several announcements.
Juniper Networks and Vodafone recently announced a partnership for the delivery of SD-WAN services through Vodafone’s new Ready Network portfolio. Vodafone’s solution will comprise flexible, cloud-based services that are designed to underpin digital business at scale, helping enterprises to compete effectively using agile, open and fast infrastructure with zero-touch deployment.
During the show, Vodafone showcased a demo of the joint solution at the Juniper booth. The new services that Vodafone has announced will help enterprises prepare for a software-defined future that focuses on simplified and centralized control to deliver superior application performance when it matters most. The integration of security throughout the service will help enterprises mitigate ever-present risks in these environments. The virtualized and multi-vendor Ready Network solution will provide businesses the flexibility to adapt their network over time without major investments.
Also at the SD-WAN Summit, the EANTC CTO, Carsten Rossenhoevel, presented the results of the Independent Test Report of the Juniper Contrail SD-WAN Solution. Contrail SD-WAN delivers a simple, automated multicloud SD-WAN that enables service providers and enterprises to create evolvable architectures to simplify growth, from secure routers to SD-WAN, SD-Branch and beyond. This report verifies important capabilities of the Juniper solution such as Zero Touch Provisioning, >10k SD-WAN spoke sites simultaneously managed by Juniper CSO, the advanced UTM security features, application forwarding, application level failover mechanisms and more.
Finally, attendees were able to see live demos of the Vodafone SD-WAN solution powered by Juniper Contrail SD-WAN. These demos gave attendees the opportunity to see the solution in action. Enterprises learned how to manage their distributed branch offices, apply advanced UTM security features and visualize usage statistics from an end-user point of view. Service providers also had the chance to view the scalable, multi-tenancy aspects and zero-touch-provisioning capabilities that the solution provides.
Juniper’s Contrail SD-WAN solution is designed to help service providers like Vodafone launch new enterprise services and prepare for a software-defined future that focuses on simplified and centralized control to deliver superior application performance. The scalable, carrier grade solution with integrated security throughout the service will help enterprises mitigate ever-present risks in these environments. The virtualized, multivendor solution provides enterprises the flexibility to adapt their network over time without major investments. At Juniper, we look forward to working with Vodafone and other service providers to enable these services and deliver value to their enterprise customers around the world.
