As the one-year anniversary of Juniper Networks’ acquisition of 128 Technology approaches, we are thrilled to receive recognition from one of the top awards programs – Light Reading’s annual Leading Lights Awards.
Bringing Two Worlds Together
For those not familiar with the history, at the end of last year Juniper acquired 128 Technology, bringing the company’s innovative Session Smart Router to Juniper’s WAN Edge portfolio. 128 Technology’s Session Smart Routing provides a tunnel-free solution that improves performance, simplifies management and adds zero-trust security to the mix. Customers are able to easily route traffic to the best path, allowing the focus to be on improving the reliability of their network connections and, therefore, providing the best end-user experience possible.
As soon as the deal was completed, Juniper continued to innovate the Session Smart Routing solution, adding Juniper WAN Assurance to the Session Smart Routing portfolio and created Juniper’s AI-driven SD-WAN. By expanding the Juniper campus and branch portfolio and bringing it all under the common AI-Driven Enterprise (AIDE) umbrella, customers can benefit from fully integrated AIOps, security and troubleshooting across the WLAN, LAN and WAN – lowering costs and optimizing end-user experiences.
Optimizing the Customer Experience from Client to Cloud
Our innovative AI-driven SD-WAN solution has been designed to provide the best operational network and application experience possible for enterprise customers.
By feeding telemetry data from Session Smart Routers into the Mist AI engine, customers can now set, monitor and enforce service levels across the WAN, proactively detecting anomalies and other edge events. They also gain enhanced insight into WAN conditions, helping to assure optimal user experiences, whether a user is on a videoconference or voice call, accessing a SaaS application or uploading and downloading large data files.
However, detecting anomalies and understanding the conditions that are present isn’t enough. Juniper’s AI-driven SD-WAN uses AI and the Juniper Mist Cloud Architecture to provide proactive insights and automation that takes the complexity out of network operations and support. This enables teams to be able to act quickly (and correctly) to solve an issue such as downtime or a lost signal, ensuring the user experience remains at a high-level and without wasting cycles trying to find out what the problem is.
Enhancing Visibility and Speeding Resolution
By providing the industry’s only tunnel-free, session-based and AI-driven SD-WAN, Juniper brings enhanced visibility and the ability to improve optimization at the application and user levels.
With Juniper, IT operators and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) get improved service-level agreements (SLAs) through bandwidth efficiency, while end users get superior, differentiated experiences. Juniper’s comprehensive, Managed SD-WAN solution enables MSPs to easily onboard new capabilities and grow portfolios.
In addition, the Marvis Virtual Network Assistant (driven by Mist AI) can be used to troubleshoot SD-WAN environments using natural language queries. This fundamentally transforms network operations from reactive troubleshooting to proactive remediation, through self-driving actions. IT teams and MSPs are empowered to take proactive actions to correct issues, even before users know there is a problem. Marvis increases IT efficiencies, minimizes support tickets and reduces mean time to repair (MTTR) while boosting the quality of experience.
Looking Forward
This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the AI-driven SD-WAN team and how the integration of Session Smart Routing and Juniper’s Mist AI provides customers with a new and innovative solution to customers in less than a year. In addition to the Leading Lights, Juniper was also recently recognized by industry analyst Gartner as the only visionary in its Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure, making this the second third-party validation for the solution in the past few months.
These are tremendous recognitions – and Juniper is excited to see what another year will bring.
