Juniper Networks is a Champion! Juniper’s Connected Security strategy combines deep network visibility with the ability to enforce security at every connection point throughout the network and this continues to be validated by both analysts and the partner community.
Specifically, we’ve been identified as a channel Champion in the 2020 edition of the Canalys Global Cybersecurity Leadership Matrix. Canalys is among the growing number of analyst houses recognizing Juniper’s technological leadership, customer support excellence and, now, our channel leadership.
One of the most important principles of Juniper Connected Security is that security integrates into every part of a network. This requires integration and interoperation between multiple products and services; both Juniper’s, as well as those of third parties. These integrations enable customers to secure parts of their networks that were previously indefensible, allowing for increased automation and ultimately a higher return on investment.
Juniper has long been a technological leader in routing, switching and security. Our products and services are not only used by many of the largest enterprises and government agencies globally, but they also keep a significant part of the internet running. With Juniper Connected Security, the world’s largest organizations are able to build a threat-aware network, defending themselves against today’s threats, while preparing for tomorrow.
The Channel Makes it Happen
We are particularly proud of the Canalys ranking because one of our core values is our ongoing commitment to providing the best customer experience. This year’s Canalys Global Cybersecurity Leadership Matrix reflects our efforts, with “quality of technical support for customers,” and “managing conflicts with other resellers and direct sales teams,” listed as Juniper’s highest-rated benchmark metrics.
The matrix assesses vendor performance in the channel. Rankings are based on EMEA channel feedback, as well as independent analysis of “vision and strategy, portfolio competitiveness, customer coverage, channel business, M&A activities, new product launches, recently launched channel initiatives and future channel initiatives planned.”
Champions are vendors who receive generally positive partner feedback, have a large share of shipments, maintain strong growth and show continued improvement in channel management. They increase the ease of doing business, boost growth opportunities for their partners and are committed to growing the share of revenue generated through the channel.
Juniper’s commitment is not only focused on supporting end customers of our products, but our entire channel. A confident, well-trained and well-supported channel provides superior support to end customers and we are pleased to see our efforts reflected in this report.
Building on Our Legacy
The capability and reliability of Juniper’s products are well-known throughout the IT industry. Today, our technology continues to excite analysts, customers and the industry, and this is reflected in certifications, awards and analyst reports. In 2019, for example, our cloud-based Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) capabilities were validated by ESG and Juniper was recommended by NSS Labs in the 2019 DCSG Security Value Map.
Juniper’s excellence rankings are far from a thing of the past and we continue to excite analysts; the Canalys Leadership Matrix has echoed the NSS labs’ report regarding Juniper’s security strategy!

2020 has also seen ICSA Firewall Certification for the Juniper vSRX Virtual Firewall and maintenance of the ICSA Advanced Threat Defense Solution Certification for Juniper Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). Time and again, the combination of Juniper SRX Series firewalls and ATP continues to impress, but technological capability is not the only reason customers love Juniper.
Vendors regularly change positions in leadership rankings for various product and service categories, but excellence in service is what keeps customers coming back. This is also where Juniper Networks delivers. In the 2019 Info-Tech Research Group Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) customer experience report, Juniper ranked No. 1 in the Net Emotional Footprint score which represents high-level user sentiment toward particular product offerings.
Today’s networks are heterogeneous – they are constantly evolving and oftentimes involve multiple vendors, as well as a diverse mix of products and services. Greenfield deployments must be able to talk to more established systems.
Making this happen requires more than being a technological leader. Everything must interoperate and everything needs to be secured. Industry-leading services and support matter just as much as the feature list of any product and it all hinges on empowering and supporting the channel.
