As organizations and service providers transform their networks to be more responsive to rapidly changing market needs, they can encounter roadblocks that are difficult to overcome – like security that’s not up to the task. When businesses evolve their infrastructures to support software-defined networks, multi- and hybrid cloud platforms, and software-as-a-service applications, they also expand the threat surface. So, we’re introducing a new offering, powered by the global cybersecurity leader, Palo Alto Networks, to bring network security up to speed.
The offering combines the 128T Session Smart™ Router with the Palo Alto Networks Security Operating Platform to prevent cyberattacks on FIPS-certified, SD-WANs, and hybrid cloud deployments. In doing so, we’re enabling enterprises and service providers to achieve new levels of security, while also gaining the simplicity, agility, performance, and savings needed for success in the digital era.
“Today’s networks are becoming increasingly complex as organizations strive to provide high-performance, dynamic applications and services to their users,” said Andy Ory, Chief Executive Officer, 128 Technology. “With this integration, we are enabling networks to align better with real-world business needs, enduring today’s high-risk environment while keeping them simple to manage and operate.”
Double the Security, Double the Intelligence. And Better Performance, Too.
Through our collaboration with Palo Alto Networks, we are helping to solve two common – and complex – use cases that today’s enterprises face as they transform their networks.
FIPS 140-2 certified, tunnel-free secure SD-WAN
Traditional SD-WAN solutions use two or more WAN transport networks by building an overlay network using encapsulation or proprietary tunneling technology. Overlays and tunnels attempt to mask network weaknesses and inflexibility by introducing wrappers that increase complexity and overhead, prevent end-to-end networking, and add costs.
The integration of the 128T Session Smart Router and the Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect™ cloud service creates a FIPS 140-2 certified, tunnel-free secure SD-WAN. A service-centric, context-aware routing model lets the network speak the language of applications and services, adapting automatically to their requirements. When the networking platform encounters applications and services that require next-generation firewall treatment, it dynamically routes them to GlobalProtect. In addition to enhancing data protection, the solution centralizes control, simplifies deployment, and enables seamless migration between cloud providers.
Secure hybrid cloud deployment
Deploying consistent security policies across multi-cloud or hybrid cloud platforms can seem downright daunting, if not impossible. Security aside, you also need to efficiently manage activities like supporting differentiated services, scaling on demand, and fluctuating bandwidth costs, to name a few.
The 128T Networking Platform with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls provide a seamless method for deploying consistent security in a multi-cloud environment. Enterprises are able to: secure the data that moves between platforms; provide differentiated services to different applications; and experience superior failover and performance. With tunnel-free security, organizations automatically reduce cloud deployment costs.
“As more and more organizations expand their operations and open satellite locations, multi-cloud environments have become mainstream, raising the bar for security, as well as performance,” said Ariel Cohen, director of Business Development at Palo Alto Networks. “We are working with 128 Technology to meet the evolving needs of our customers and ensure consistent security levels. We’re also helping reduce costs and simplify management of their networks so customers can put more time and energy into what makes their business tick.”
